Tinkov to launch virtual mobile operator Tinkoff-mobile in Dec

SOCHI, Oct 5 (PRIME) -- New mobile virtual network operator Tinkoff-mobile will start working in two months on networks of state-controlled telecom operator Rostelecom, Tinkoff Bank’s founder and core holder Oleg Tinkov said on Thursday at the Finopolis forum.

“We’re launching Tinkoff-mobile in two months; we want to be a telecom company…We want (to work) on networks of Rostelecom, including Tele2 (the brand of mobile operator T2 RTK Holding, half-owned by Rostelecom),” Tinkov said.

Rostelecom started providing mobile operator services in November 2016 in 65 out of 85 regions of the country, where T2 RTK Holding works. Virtual operators do not own networks, but exploit infrastructure of traditional market players under their brands.
